The Business Gold Rewards card from American Express doesn’t usually offer a signup bonus at all, but for a limited time it is being offered with an impressive 50,000-point bonus if you spend $5,000 on the card within 3 months of opening your account. American Express occasionally runs 75,000-point offers for the Business Gold Rewards card, but those offers contain a significantly higher minimum spend requirement: $10,000 within 4 months.
I discussed the Business Gold Rewards card in my roundup of the best business cards: like its personal card counterpart, it is a strong points-earner, especially for frequent flyers. It earns 3 Membership Rewards points per dollar on airfare, 2 points per dollar on advertising expenditures, shipping, and at gas stations, and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases. It carries a $175 annual fee, but that fee is waived for the first year. I own the Business Gold Rewards card, and plan to either downgrade the card, transfer my points, or request a fee waiver or retention bonus before the annual fee hits my account.
