UPDATE: The 75,000-point offer is no longer available.
I’m usually brimming with excitement when a 75,000-point offer comes around, but after last week’s shenanigans — in which American Express accidentally released a 75,000-point offer, then somehow partially withdrew the offer so it only worked on certain browsers, and ultimately pulled the offer entirely within 24 hours — I can’t even muster an exclamation point for this one.
The current offer can be accessed through this link [now dead]. It expires on Friday, May 17th, so if you’d like to partake, you have a relatively narrow window of opportunity to do so. The offer is slightly inferior to last week’s offer in that it requires double the minimum spend ($10,000 instead of $5,000), but it also provides an extra month in which to complete that spend (4 months versus 3).
Just like last week’s offer, the signup bonus is not available if you have had “any Business Gold, Green, or Platinum Card account within the last 12 months.” This exception applies only to the business Gold, Green, and Platinum cards, however, so applicants who have held the personal versions of those cards should not be precluded.
As a reminder, I profiled the Business Gold Rewards card in my post about the best business cards: it earns 3 Membership Rewards points per dollar on airfare, 2 points per dollar at gas stations and on advertising and shipping expenditures, and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases. The card has a $175 annual fee, but the fee is waived for the first year.
Not sure whether you’re eligible for a small business card? Check out this post.
